Bad Art

I like to think I’ve always had a creative streak. In any case, I’ve made a lot of stuff! Check out some examples of my work below.

Paintings

Most of these designs grew out of scribbles in notebooks and on dirty windows. I’m not claiming that they’re worth anything, I just thought these were cool enough to put on some of my apartment’s walls. They were fun to make, so at the very least, I enjoyed the process:

Watercolor Postcards

My girlfriend Jen gifted me her grandfather’s set of watercolor paints and brushes, and I had a great time messing around with learning the medium. Like my acrylic paintings, I seem to hang on one style and repeat that over and over … and over.

I thought some of these were neat enough to have printed up as postcards, so my friends and family have been getting a lot of mail from me. Maybe more than they want:

College Work

I minored in Studio Art while attending Marist College, and was able to take drawing, painting, sculpting and 3D animation classes there. My favorite of them all was an introductory sculpture course taught by the accomplished Ed Smith; we worked with a number of materials during the semester, and even spent a few classes wielding an arc welder out behind the school’s studios.

Not many of the things I made are worth exhibiting here, but Ed told me these four were worth documenting. I trusted he knew what he was talking about (and still do):
